POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Loan Officer's primary responsibilities are centered on providing agricultural and financial expertise to customers and building strong relationships with these customers. He/she must have the ability to combine his/her agricultural and business knowledge with an in-depth understanding of each customer's current financial position in order to provide innovative and workable alternatives to solve problems the customer faces in his/her ongoing business operations. As the relationship builds between the customer and the loan officer, the customer should begin to regard him/her as a valuable resource who consistently provides new ideas and useful information that can be used to manage their business operations more efficiently and effectively. As part of this activity, he/she will market FCS Financial loan products and other related services to members and prospective customers based upon the individual's need for these products.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
This position requires a bachelor's degree in business, agriculture, or related field; a minimum of one year of experience in the agribusiness/farming industry, or a similar experience in agricultural credit or closely related field; ability to communicate "value added" business and farming concepts to attract and maintain a positive customer base; knowledge of loan products and services and credit operations; knowledge of farm production methods and products, farm business management, finance, macroeconomics; and an understanding of, and ability to use, various computer business/financial applications including Microsoft Office software. The preferred candidate must possess demonstrated interpersonal, communication, problem solving, analytical, negotiating, influencing, and strategic selling skills. In addition, this position will be interacting in a team environment with other Customer Service Team members. As a result, the preferred candidate must have effective teamwork skills.
SALARY RANGE: Salary depends on qualifications and experience
