Farm Credit recently awarded Orran Cope, a member of the Aurora FFA Chapter, a $1,000 grant for his supervised agricultural experience (SAE) project as well as $1,000 to the Aurora FFA Chapter.
“FCS Financial is proud to see Farm Credit support Orran Cope’s SAE project. The first-hand experience from this project helps him grow his skills and knowledge of agriculture and business,” said David Janish, FCS Financial CEO.
Orran raises and harvests the product from honeybees as his SAE project. This grant will allow him to add two new beehives and plant a plot of land in bee-friendly white clover and sweet clover.
The National FFA selected 51 grant recipients from nearly 6,000 students nationwide. These grants help FFA members create or expand their SAE projects, a requirement that all FFA members must complete. To learn more about the other projects Farm Credit funded, visit their website.
