State winners of the third annual FFA video contest were announced on April 18, 2013, at the annual FFA Missouri State Convention in Columbia, Mo. Bourbon FFA chapter won first, followed by the Dora chapter placing second and Troy winning third. Other district winners included the Bernie, Pleasant Hope, Boonville and Ridgeway FFA chapters.

There were 11 entries in this year’s contest, which highlighted the importance of agriculture and how farmers create safe, wholesome food; work hard to care for their animals; and are good stewards of the environment.

“It is clear to see that young people involved in FFA have a great love for agriculture and are excited to tell their story to the general public,” said Blake Hurst, Missouri Farm Bureau president. “The sponsors of this contest are dedicated to helping young people in agriculture and appreciate the participation of the FFA chapters in this year’s video contest.”

A total of $6,500 in prizes was also awarded to the winning chapters: $2,000 for first place, $1,500 for second, $1,000 for third and $500 for each of the remaining district winners. The winning videos can be viewed on our Community Support page.

This year’s contest was sponsored by FCS Financial, Midwest Dairy Association, Missouri Corn Merchandising Council, Missouri Farm Bureau, Missouri Pork Association, Missouri Soybean Association and MFA Incorporated.
