FCS Financial is recognizing 38 different 4-H clubs and FFA chapters with $500 grants for submitting outstanding Shaping Rural Missouri grant applications. Grants were awarded to organizations with plans to complete a community improvement project by the end of the year.

This is the fourth year FCS Financial has funded the Shaping Rural Missouri grants for 4-H clubs and FFA chapters. “Community development in rural Missouri is very important to FCS Financial. Our member-owners and staff live in rural communities across Missouri,” said Scott Gardner, Vice President, Sales & Marketing, FCS Financial. “These grants not only strengthen our rural communities but allow our youth to work as a team to accomplish a worthy goal.”

The following 4-H clubs and FFA chapters were selected by a panel of judges to receive a Shaping Rural Missouri grant in support of implementing the respective project listed:

 


  • Antioch 4-H Club (Clark County): Fans for Small Species Barn at Fairgrounds

  • Aurora FFA Chapter (Lawrence County): Aurora Trails Beautification

  • Coon Creek Cronies 4-H Club (Montgomery County): Reed Park Improvements

  • Country Kids 4-H Club (Laclede County): Laclede County Saddle Club Arena & Property Restoration

  • Current River Clovers 4-H Club (Shannon County): Pride of Our Parks Restoration & Clean Up

  • DeKalb FFA Chapter (Buchanan County): Landscaping DeKalb Ag Ed Facility

  • Eager Beaver 4-H Club (Monroe County): Landscape Paris Elementary School & Library

  • Everton FFA Chapter (Dade County): Revitalize Community Recreational Areas

  • Gilman City FFA Chapter (Harrison County): Show Barn Sound System Improvement

  • Greenfield FFA Chapter (Dade County): Working with special education class to build lawn furniture for elementary school garden

  • Hawkeye 4-H Club (Maries County): Downtown Belle Beautification

  • Hitt 4-H Club (Lafayette County): Upgrade lighting in Corder VFW Building

  • Holliday Horizons 4-H Club (Monroe County): Countertop Display Installation at Monroe County 4-H Building; working with Mark Twain 4-H Club

  • Jefferson City 4-H Club (Cole County): Facility Improvements at Range Used by 4-H Shooting Sports Program

  • Jewett 4-H Club (Madison County): Maintenance of Jewett Community Center, Historic One-Room Schoolhouse

  • Kountry Kids 4-H Club (Lawrence County): Bleachers at Lawrence County Fairgrounds

  • Macon County R-IV FFA Chapter (Macon County): Raised Bed Garden

  • Mark Twain 4-H Club (Monroe County): Countertop Display Installation at Monroe County 4-H Building; working with Holliday Horizons 4-H Club

  • Miller FFA Chapter (Lawrence County): Bleachers at Lawrence County Fairgrounds

  • Monticello 4-H Club (Lewis County): Beautify Fairgrounds

  • Mt. Comfort 4-H Club (Lawrence County): Bleachers at Lawrence County Fairgrounds

  • Nevada FFA Chapter (Vernon County): Lighting Fixtures for Vernon County Fairgrounds

  • Orrick FFA Chapter (Ray County): Landscape around Orrick School

  • Osage River 4-H Club (Cedar County): Restoration of entry into Ward Schoolhouse

  • Paris FFA Chapter (Monroe County): Landscape around Paris Schools

  • Pierce City FFA Chapter (Lawrence County): Bleachers at Lawrence County Fairgrounds

  • Platte County 4-H Council (Platte County): Display & Storage Unit at Fairgrounds

  • Prairie Home Helping Hands 4-H Club (Cooper County): Art Hall Display Cases

  • Savannah FFA Chapter (Andrew County): School & Community Outdoor Classroom

  • Scotland County 4-H Council (Scotland County): Holding Pens for Livestock Show Barn

  • South Nodaway FFA Chapter (Nodaway County): FFA Community Garden

  • Southwest FFA Chapter (Barry County): Facility Improvements to Local Church

  • Sweet Springs FFA Chapter (Saline County): BBQ Pit Renovation at Community Building

  • Teen Leaders 4-H Club (Barton County): Lamar City Park Restroom Renovation

  • The Lucky Clover 4-H Club (Gentry County): Picnic Tables for Stanberry City Park

  • Union FFA Chapter (Franklin County): Union FFA Chapter Garden

  • Wardsville 4-H Club (Cole County): Cole County Fairgrounds Improvement

  • Westran Ramblers 4-H Club (Randolph County): Replace lights at Community Center

2016 grant applications will be available on our website on January 1, 2016.
