Last year, middle school students across Missouri had the opportunity to explore agriculture through a new curriculum sponsored by FCS Financial and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
To celebrate the release of the ag curriculum, FCS Financial hosted a video contest for public schools located in their service area. Congratulations to the Verona and Elsberry school districts for their Exploring Animal Science and Exploring Plant Science winning videos. Each school district received $600. The winning videos will be released at missouriffa.org in July. The videos will also be linked to Missouri FFA’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
In the 2020-2021 school year, Exploring Food Science and Exploring Natural Resources will be added to the curriculum. To participate, teachers can assign the project to students enrolled in an exploring agriculture curriculum topic and submit the top two videos per topic area to FCS Financial by April 1, 2021. Official rules will be provided to public school teachers later this year.
