Last week, we hosted a solar panel informational meeting in Kahoka. In addition to sharing the slides from the meeting, below are some questions with answers from the meeting. These were first published on our Twitter feed.

Question: Do solar panels need to be placed a specific way?
Answer: North and south is best. You can place them east to west but you’ll lose about 12% of your production.
Question: What is the life expectancy of solar panels?
Answer: Most panels have a 25-year warranty.
Question: How do solar panels hold up in hail?
Answer: We had (solar panels)installed on a house and within 30 days, a hailstorm went through. The entire roof was torn up, except where the panels were. The panels were fine.
