Agriculture has always been an industry that battles numerous perils. At times, we face one that can be extremely destructive and dangerous. We are currently facing one of those in Missouri.
Farmers, ranchers and residents in some of our rural communities are facing historic flooding caused by recent rains and snowmelt.
Recently, Governor Parson declared a state of emergency for the affected areas. It is likely this situation may affect other areas in the upcoming days or additional flooding may occur in different river basins across the state due to spring rains and snowmelt.
As an agricultural cooperative, we are an extension of the farmers, ranchers and rural communities that make Missouri what it is.
Our hearts and prayers go out to all those impacted.
