Reports are due July 15, 2022

Risk Management Agency (RMA) rules require accurate and timely reporting of planted acres and plant dates.  Penalties associated with misreported liability can drastically impact your coverage.  Here are a few reminders that will help you protect the value of your policy:

  1. Report acres as soon as you finish planting to allow ample time to complete requirements by the deadline.
    • All acreage reports need to be completed, signed, dated, and returned to your agent no later than July 15, 2022.  The report needs to be signed by the policyholder or authorized representative for the policy or entity.
    • All acres (insured and uninsured) in which you have a share must be reported.
      • Provide the initial planting date for each field.  If any acreage was planted after the final plant date, these acres must be reported separately due to the late planting reduction in guarantee.
      • Prevented planting (PP) acres need to be shown on your report even though a claim has already been submitted.
        • Replant and prevent plant claims will not be paid until the adjuster has finalized all paperwork and your acreage report has been signed by you and processed by the agency.
    • Check pre-printed share percentages for each unit to make sure they are correct.  Note any changes.
    • An acreage report must be signed and submitted for each policy even if you have no share or zero acres to report for 2022.
    • Added land must be reported with farm numbers, legal descriptions, and share percentage.
    • Specifically note any land that is planted and has come out of Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) within the last two years.
    • If you have crops planted on land that has not been planted and harvested in one of the last three years, then a new break insurability request must be completed for consideration of insurance.
      • Contact your agent as soon as possible to discuss requirements and complete paperwork.
    • Reviewing the acreage report for accuracy is essential!
  2. Make sure your policy name is consistent with how you are reporting to Farm Service Agency (FSA) and selling your grain.
  3. A schedule of insurance or summary of coverage will be sent to you after your report has been received and processed.  Please review this information and notify us immediately if there are any errors.
    • Any revisions to insured liability after July 15 must be approved by the insurance provider.  A request that raises liability after July 15 may be denied.
  4. Always contact your agent if you have any questions.
