The FCS Financial Rural Community & Agriculture Foundation recently announced a $5,000 grant to the Carroll County Fair Board, demonstrating its commitment to the growth and enhancement of local agricultural traditions and community engagement. The funds will directly support critical improvement projects for the fairground’s existing amphitheater.
The Carroll County Fair Board is actively working to elevate the fair experience for both participants and attendees. With an increasing number of events and opportunities for youth and adults to showcase their agricultural projects and talents, the amphitheater has become a central hub of activity. However, the structure is in need of significant repairs and upgrades to ensure its continued functionality and safety.
Meagan Schlueter, Treasurer of the Carroll County Fair Board, expressed her gratitude for the generous contribution. "Our amphitheater is a vital space for numerous fair events, and these funds will allow us to address some crucial repairs and improvements,” said Schlueter. “We are dedicated to creating a better and more enjoyable experience for everyone who comes to the fair."
The grant will contribute to several key projects identified by the Fair Board, including the replacement of a deteriorating back entrance deck, the installation of new doors and weatherproofing for storage areas, and the scraping and repainting of the exterior. The Fair Board also hopes to add a sound system and ceiling fans to further enhance the usability and comfort of the amphitheater.
Robert Guinn, CEO of FCS Financial, emphasized the Foundation’s dedication to supporting rural communities. "The FCS Financial Rural Community & Agriculture Foundation is proud to partner with the Carroll County Fair Board in their efforts to improve the fairgrounds," stated Guinn. "Supporting vital community assets like the Carroll County Fair aligns perfectly with the Foundation's mission to invest in the strength and vibrancy of our rural areas. This amphitheater is a central part of the fair, and these upgrades will benefit the entire community for years to come."
The Carroll County Fair Board aims to have the deck replacement completed in time for the 2025 Carroll County Fair, which will take place the second week of July, with remaining amphitheater improvements to be finalized later in the year.
