The Missouri FFA Association named David Janish, Columbia, an Honorary State FFA Degree recipient at the 94th Missouri FFA Convention.

Janish is currently the Chief Executive Officer for FCS Financial, a position he has held since August 2013. He is a member of the Farm Credit System Presidents Planning Committee and the Risk Management Committee. In addition, Janish serves on the boards of Agricultural Leaders of Tomorrow and the University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR) Foundation.

Janish was raised on a diversified livestock, row crop and grain operation near Kimball, South Dakota. He received bachelor’s degrees in mathematics and computer science from the University of South Dakota, and a Master of Business Administration in finance from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.

Although he was not an FFA member growing up, Janish has lended support to Missouri FFA throughout his professional career. Janish says he has “seen first-hand the benefits the FFA experience brings to members of the FCS Financial team and in preparing our future leaders”. FCS Financial has a long history of supporting FFA, both through staff involvement and financial support.

The Missouri FFA Association recognizes Honorary State FFA Degree recipients for their valuable efforts and contributions to the FFA organization and its members. Those eligible to receive the Honorary FFA Degree include farmers, school superintendents, principals, members of the board of education, chapter advisors, teachers, staff members in agricultural education, business professionals and others who are helping to advance agricultural education and the FFA.

The Missouri FFA has 25,626 members representing 353 chapters. The national organization has more than 735,000 members representing 8,817 chapters in all 50 states and Puerto Rico.

The FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.
