Jefferson City is home to the FCS Financial corporate and branch offices, their employees and families. Wednesday, May 22, a devastating EF-3 tornado tore through Jefferson City. While FCS Financial offices experienced no damage, many community members and businesses did. To assist with cleanup and rebuilding, FCS Financial is donating $5,000 to the American Red Cross of Northern and Central Missouri specifically for local tornado and flood relief efforts.
“On May 22, 16 tornadoes hit our region. Over the last five weeks, we’ve worked with our community partners to provide more than 1,500 overnight shelter stays and serve more than 26,000 meals and snacks to people facing overwhelming need,” stated Abigail Anderson, Central and Northern Missouri American Red Cross Executive Director. “Donations from organizations like FCS Financial, help us continue to provide services to those impacted by the tornadoes and flooding.”
“Our hearts go out to all of those affected by the Jefferson City tornado and flooding,” says David Janish, FCS Financial CEO. “In addition to this donation, we are also matching employee donations and providing time off during work hours to assist with the cleanup efforts. Jefferson City is home to many of our staff members and we want to support the community during this time.”
