Unpredictable weather happens and most Multiple Peril Crop Insurance Policies (MPCI) include coverage for replant claims.  All replant claims must be submitted before you disturb the soil, or replant and we ask that you contact us as soon as you think there may be a problem.

For a replant claim to be payable:

  • The plant date needs to be after the initial crop insurance plant date listed in the county actuarial
  • An adjuster must determine that it is practical to replant and provide authorization before you replant
  • You must have at least 20 acres or 20% of the unit to replant
  • In some cases, with less than 100 acres per unit to replant, a self-certification replant may replace an adjuster’s on-site review, however a claim must still be submitted to your agent before you replant
